Welcome to Woods Law Professional Corporation
Barristers & Solicitors

We are small and focused law firm serving the GTA since 1988. Our guiding principal is simple: We treat everyone with respect and professionalism with a clear understanding that each client’s issues are important and require “hands on” attention.

Our areas of practice include the following:

  • Real Estate
  • Mortgage Law
  • Mortgage Brokerage Services
  • Business Law
  • Wills and Estates

We believe in providing quality legal services at a reasonable price. We also believe that the best client is an “educated client”. Over the years, it has become clear to us that clients do not like surprises. Neither do we. For all standard transactions, we give a fixed fee for our services and a firm quote for disbursements involved in the process. For non-standard transactions we break down the process into the component parts that are involved, and provide an estimate cost for each step.  In this way we keep our clients fully informed of what is involved in dealing with their legal issues, and what it is going to cost.  This has been a very successful formula for us for more than 20 years.

Since 1991 we have been involved in the placement of quality mortgage investments with our clients. Since 2004 we have also offered the option of investing in a “mortgage investment corporation” to our clients who are “accredited investors”.  In addition, we offer on-line mortgage brokering services through our mortgage brokerage company, Mortgagetown Inc. This allows us to get involved in the real estate transaction right at the beginning to insure prompt and professional service in locating our clients the type of mortgage they want at the best available interest rate given their particular characteristics. You can apply on-line by visiting Mortgagetown.

We are also members in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Peel Law Association.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
